Single-use tickets

 

Dopravní podnik města Brna, a.s. provides single-use tickets for a maximum of 5 tariff zones (Article III – Tariff rules, paragraph 31 of the Price list of the South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System). A wider selection is available from ticket machines and at Czech Rail (ČD) ticket counters.

Price for the issue of South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Cards and Pupil/Student ID Cards

 

*2Validity of tickets:

  1. when combining travel tickets as a “pay-the-difference” ticket for one extra zone;

  2. in all zones for train travel in the same or a neighbouring zone from the stop (station) of validation for a maximum of two stops (stations) – a stop (station) is also considered a stop (station) which the train in question merely passes through; the time limit of the ticket on a train is restricted to 30 minutes; passengers may not transfer between services.

 

*3Prices of tickets for children up to the age of 15 (i.e. to the day before their 15th birthday), luggage which does not qualify for free travel and dog. The ticket is also valid for transporting a bicycle on trams, trolley-buses and buses in zones 100 and 101.

*4Non-transfer tickets (which do not allow the passenger to transfer between services) for holders of ZTP or ZTP/P disability cards issued only in buses numbered 100 and higher. Tickets are only valid on the service on which they are issued (within the zone and time for which they are valid).

*5Prices of tickets for persons on category III invalidity pension and old-age pension under the age of 70.

*6Prices of tickets for school pupils and students aged between 15 and 26 (i.e. to the day before their 26th birthday). Pupils and students that require a pre-paid coupon for zones other than zones 100, 101, 225, 235, 571, 575, 580, 675, 740, 800, 900 and 915 must present a Pupil/Student ID Card when buying this coupon for the first time.

*7Prices of tickets for school pupils and students under the age of 15 (i.e. to the day before their 15th birthday).

*9Transferable tickets may be used on weekends and public holidays by a maximum of two persons over the age of 15 and three children under the age of 15 (i.e. to the day before their 15th birthday), non-transferable tickets by the ticket holder, one other person over the age of 15 and three children under the age of 15.

 

Free travel

The following persons may travel for free:

  1. children under the age of 6 (i.e. to the day before their 6th birthday); a maximum of two children under the age of 6 may accompany one and the same passenger free-of-charge outside zones 100, 101, 225, 235, 571, 575, 675, 740, 800 and 900;

  2. one person accompanying a child up to 3 years of age (i.e. until the day before his/her 3rd birthday) travels free in zones 100 and 101. The child’s age is proven with a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card with free coupon issued by the transport operator;

  3. holders of ZTP and ZTP/P disability cards on trams, buses and trolley buses in zones 100, 101, 225, 235, 571, 575, 675, 740, 800 and 900 and on service numbers 1 to 99 outside these zones;

  4. the person accompanying a ZTP/P disability card holder plus assistance or guide dog, wheelchair and pram (stroller) (if the ZTP/P disability card holder is a child;

  5. persons over the age of 70 (i.e. including the day of their 70th birthday) on buses in zones 225, 235, 571, 675, 740 and 900 if they present a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card;

  6. persons over the age of 65 (i.e. including the day of their 65th birthday) on buses in zone 575 if they present a chip card, a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card for old-age pensioners or a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card for persons over the age of 70;

  7. persons authorised to conduct inspections in the relevant vehicle (according to the Railways Act) on trams and trolley buses;

  8. persons authorised to conduct inspections in the relevant vehicle (according to the Road Traffic Act) on buses;

  9. uniformed officers of the Municipal Police of Blansko on buses in zone 235 and on service 226;

  10. uniformed officers of the Police of the Czech Republic and the Municipal Police of Břeclav and persons specified by the Municipal Authority of Břeclav on buses in zone 575;

  11. holders of return train tickets on the Wien – Brno line on trams, trolley buses and buses in zones 100 and 101. The ticket is only valid on the date on which the passenger begins his/her journey;

  12. persons over the age of 70 (i.e. including the day of their 70th birthday) in zones 100 and 101 if they present a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card with free coupon issued by the transport operator;

  13. children under the age of 10 (i.e. to the day before their 10th birthday) on buses in zone 900;

  14. one person accompanying a child under the age of 3 (i.e. to the day before their 3rd birthday) on buses in zone 900. The child’s age is proven with a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card;

  15. old-age pensioners and persons on invalidity pension over the age of 50 and holders of Prof. MUDr. Janský gold plaques for 40 free blood donations on buses in zone 800; proof required in the form of a chip card, a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card for old-age pensioners or a South Moravian Region Integrated Public Transport System ID Card for persons over the age of 70;

  16. passengers, hand luggage and dogs on bus services marked A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H;

  17. assistance or guide dogs in training wearing a reflective vest;

  18. Holders of valid non-transferable pre-paid tickets can also take luggage(*9), a dog or a bicycle with them free-of-charge on trams, trolley buses and buses with service numbers 1 to 99 in zones 100 and 101. Bicycles are on services numbered 100 and higher only permitted on those services indicated in the timetable.
