Frequently Asked Questions

How do I buy a ticket at a ticket machine?

First, check that the machine is operating. If it is, the display will light up and show Tickets or Day, Date and Time (the signs will alternate). Then select the type of ticket from the menu and press the appropriate button. If you want to buy the discounted version of the ticket, you must now use the preset button Discounted. You can then select the number of units by pressing the button again. At any time during the order entry process, you can press the Cancel button to cancel the order.

The display will show a list of coins that can be used for payment (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 CZK) and at the same time the coin slot input will open. Insert coins of the desired value up to the total purchase price, preferably from the lowest to the highest value. The coin slot will close and reopened after each coin. The display shows the amount of money remaining in the purchase price. If you have selected the wrong ticket or number of tickets, you can use the Cancel button to cancel your order and the machine will refund the amount you have deposited.

When the last coin has been inserted, the tickets will be printed and the following text will appear on the display: Your request has been processed, please wait! The machine will then refund the overpayment and issue the printed tickets.

If the machine does not work, you can call +420 543 174 317 or report it to any driver.

Where can I find a ticket machine?

Our ticket machines are installed at all interchanges and at all busy public transport stops. All machines are already equipped with a coin return, but please pay attention to the coin list that is displayed on the screen during the purchase process. It is not always possible to use all types of coins. Do not put coins into the machine that are not shown on the display.

What should I do if the ticket machine has not refunded my money or has not issued me a ticket?

If a ticket is not being issued, first press the Cancel button. The ticket machine will return the cash you have deposited. If the button is broken, wait 20 seconds and the machine will return the coins itself.

If the ticket machine:

  • did not issue a ticket or the coins you inserted in,
  • has not returned the exact difference between the face value of the ticket issued and the coins inserted,
  • issued an unprinted or misprinted ticket,
  • issued a ticket in a different format,

you can file a complaint about the service within two working days of the fault occurring. Complaints against the ticket machine are governed by the Complaints Procedure and can be made in the following ways:

  • by filling in the complaint form on the website www.dpmb.cz
  • by phone at +420 543 174 317,
  • by e-mail to JAreklamace@dpmb.cz,
  • in person at the supplementary ticket office in Brno, Novobranská 18, first floor, on working days from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m
